MARGO’S MAKOS
My name is Margo Spring and I have been surfing since I was 5 years old.
My mission is to bring my love of the ocean and the freedom of surfing to underprivileged kids in Los Angeles.
I am working with www.malibumakos.com to make that dream come true.
Our kids are from 2 charities:
www.achanceforchildren.org- an amazing charity who are 30 years old and give low income family kids the chance to experience the ocean with Malibu Makos.
www.hopethmission.org - At The Woodlands, homeless families are offered three meals a day, peer support groups, tutoring and support for entering the workforce.
All donations go to the kids camp / surf lessons, transportation, food and surf equipment. Donate at links below!
A Chance for Children Foundation - Helping kids for over 30 years!
A Chance For Children Foundation focuses on empowering at-risk youth by providing opportunities for goal setting, mentoring, and new experiences to overcome difficult upbringings. Working with the LAPD and other organization, A Chance for Children encourages dreams and consistently exposes kids to new experiences outside the dangers and struggles of their daily lives so each child will have a chance for a better future.

Hope The Mission - Helping families since 2009!
I have been fortunate enough to participate in one of Los Angeles great efforts to help the homeless in a charity called Hope-the Mission which provides temporary housing for families in need of support during times when they're out of work or otherwise lose their ability to provide for themselves and their families. No matter the background of the family, Hope will supply housing, food, clothes, substance abuse programs, counseling on securing employment, relocation assistance and much, much more. Hope takes old hotels and motels and renovates them into apartments where families can live while they get their lives back on track. I served food at the shelter and I have discovered that so many of these people are in difficult situations, not because they're lazy or don't want to work, but that circumstances have made their prior way of living unsustainable. Certain things have happened to people that they can't change whether its a natural disaster, substance abuse, covid, or they're refugees or victims of all sorts of misfortune as a result of many challenges in our modern society. It's not their fault and I will personally always stand up for that and will try to help them for the rest of my life.
